Meeting Molly

Monday night we became the proud new parents of a chocolate lab! Her name is Molly & she is 2 years old. We originally planned to get a puppy but came across the opportunity to get an older dog that has been in training for duck hunting for the last 10 months. She did not turn out to be as "trainable" as the prior owner wanted. Rick is getting into duck hunting & since we do not have the time or money at this point in life to train a puppy to duck hunt, we thought Molly might be a great opportunity. Our yellow lab, Libby, gets along with any dog she has been around so in my head I just knew Molly was going to be a great companion for Libby! Turns out the first sisterly meeting did not go as I had planned. Libby seemed to know right away that this new girl was invading her space. She has NOT been happy the past couple days. Tonight is night 3, and finally the growling is subsiding. Hopefully these 2 will be good friends real soon! Molly still has a LOT of puppy left in her. We will definitely need to refresh some basic obedience training with her! She is a sweetie though
